How our matching process works
From rare siding and salvaged hardwood to discontinued tile and shingles, finding an exact construction match used to be impossible. Discover how our AI-assisted sourcing and specialist network bridge the gap between your project needs and nationwide suppliers.

1. Capture details and submit your request
Start by submitting your material request online. To give our team the best opportunity to find an exact match, upload clear, well-lit photos showing the whole material alongside close-ups of textures, seams, profiles, and maker stamps.
Including a tape measure in your photos, along with approximate product age, dimensions, and quantity needed, provides the precise data our AI needs to analyze your item.

2. AI-assisted analysis and supplier sourcing
After receiving your request, Material Match uses AI-assisted research to compare your photos and product details with publicly available manufacturer information, supplier listings, product catalogs, and other industry resources. We review potential matches based on characteristics such as material type, color, profile, dimensions, texture, and identifying numbers. We generally provide an initial update by email within 1 to 3 business days. Rare or discontinued materials require additional research time, and exact matches or availability cannot be guaranteed.

3. Receive options, quotes, and smart alternatives
We email the potential matches and supplier information we identify. Results may include product names, specifications, seller listings, availability details, and pricing or quote options when available. If an exact vintage or discontinued match cannot be found, we may suggest close or modern alternatives based on characteristics such as profile, dimensions, color, texture, and intended use.
We clearly explain any known differences. Customers should confirm compatibility, suitability, availability, and pricing before purchasing or installing any product.
